Notes:
An improved technique of electron spin echo envelope modulation (ESEEM) spectroscopy using soft pulses is proposed. It is functionally related to the standard three-pulse stimulated echo experiment, but has an improved bandwidth. The general class of soft-ESEEM experiments is analyzed theoretically by using a product operator formalism. The predicted features are verified experimentally, in particular, the lack of blind spots and the observation of high modulation frequencies.
