Notes:
It is found that dust sheared flow in combination with the dust–neutral drag produce a dissipative instability of short-wavelength (in comparison with the ion gyroradius) electrostatic waves in nonuniform dusty magnetoplasmas. Furthermore, the nonlinear interactions between these finite amplitude short-wavelength waves give rise to a vortex chain which moves with a well defined constant velocity. The relevance of our investigation to laboratory and space plasmas has been pointed out. © 1998 American Institute of Physics.
