Over the past ten years, Photarc Surveys Limited has been taking aerial photography from a low flying helicopter to determine road surface spot heights. Developments in technology over this period have resulted in investigations into improvements in this technique and, in particular, in the provision of control for the photography. This paper represents the preliminary investigations into the problem of providing control for the photography including some experiences of using an inflight control system.
