Die durch substituierte 1,3-Dioxolan-2-ylium-Salze initiierte Polymerisation von THF wurde untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, daß der Verbrauch des Monomers sowohl von der Art des Kations als auch des Anions abhängt. Die Anzahl, Art und die Konfiguration der Substituenten in den Dioxoleniumkationen bestimmen die Reaktivität dieser Kationen im Initiierungsprozeß, und folglich beeinflussen sie die katalytische Aktivität der Salze. Der Einfluß des Anions auf den Polymerisationsprozeß wird dagegen von der Reaktion innerhalb des Makroionepaars bedingt.

THF polymerization initiated by substituted 1,3-dioxolan-2-ylium salts was investigated. It was found that the rate of monomer consumption depends both on the cation and anion nature. The number, kind and configuration of the substituents of the dioxolenium cations determine their reactivity in the initiation process, hence they influence the catalytic activity of the salts, while the influence of the anion nature on the course of the polymerization is due to the reaction within macroion pairs.
