Notizen:
Summary 109 brains of children in the age from 16 years down to newborns have been examinated. It was found that in the age between the 2nd month and 5th year there was accumulation of fibrillary gliosis in the brain stem. This cannot be understood entirely as the result of a disease since they were present also in cases of acute death. Therefore, it is concluded that fibrillary gliosis is representative for a physiological intermediate state, and can be increased by general diseases. We have not found any connection between this phenomenon and other formative processes in the development.
