Potentially biocidal polymers were prepared by radical polymerization and copolymerization of the isomeric 4-vinylbenzoyl and 2-carbomethoxyacrylic derivatives of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (Amitrol). The release of the pendantly bound herbicide by hydrolysis may be modified by changing the nature of the herbicide-to-polymeramide linkages.

Durch radikalische Homo- und Copolymerisation der stellungsisomeren 4-Vinylbenzoyl- und 2-Carbomethoxyacryloylderivate des 3-Amino-1,2,4-triazols (Amitrol) werden potentiell biocide Polymere dargestellt. Der an die Polymerketten seitenständig fixierte biocide Wirkstoff läßt sich in Abhängigkeit von der Natur der Amidbindung abgestuft hydrolytisch freisetzen.
