Notes: Abstract Depletion of heavy elements has been recognized to be important in the understanding of the chemical composition of the interstellar medium. This problem is also relevant to the study of Hii regions. In this paper we investigate the gaseous depletion in the physical conditions of the Orion nebula. We reach the conclusion that very probably no depletion of heavy elements, due to sticking on dust grains, took place during the lifetime of the Orion nebula.
