Es wird das Dampfdruckverhältnis der Isotope 36A und 40A bei 83,8°K zu 1,006 berechnet und eine Rektifikationsanlage beschrieben, die mit etwa 130 theoretischen Böden für 36A einen totalen Trennfaktor von 1,94 besitzt und täglich 15 l Argon mit ∼ 0,6% 36A zu liefern vermag.

Notes: Die Teilsynthese des 3β, 12α- und des 3β,12β-Dioxy-ätiansäure-methylesters und ihrer Diacetate wird beschrieben. Der 3α,12β-Diacetoxy-ätiansäure-methylester wurde kristallisiert erhalten. Damit sind nun alle theoretisch möglichen raumisomeren 3,12-Dioxy-ätiansäure-methylester und ihre Diacetate bekannt. Der durch Abbau aus Digoxigenin gewonnene Dioxyester war mit dem 3β, 12β-Derivat identisch. Digoxigenin ist demnach als 3β, 12β, 14-Trioxy-carden-(20:22)-olid zu formulieren.

Notes: The fine structure of potato and maize starch granules has been studied. 1The action of heat on the swelling of the granules has been examined. Treatment at temperatures up to 150°C diminishes the swelling in water although there is an increase in dextrinisation. This phenomenon is attributed to a growth of small crystallites at the expense of the free molecular segments, on the presence of which the swelling depends. The granules become entirely soluble at 170°.
