Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Using the IR and DSC techniques the crystallization of the components in polyethylene-polypropylene blends was investigated. The results were analyzed in terms of the Avrami equation. The analysis shows that the crystallization rate of PP depends on the PE content and on the temperature of crystallization. Above 122°C PE causes a decrease of the crystallization rate of PP, whereas below 122°C PE accelerates the crystallization of PP. In the ranges of PE content 0 to 50% and 80 to 100% PP causes an increase of the crystallization rate of PE, whereas in the range 50 to 80% PE decreases the rate of crystallization.
