Abstract A preparation of total low-molecular peptides isolated from bovine ovaries by acetic acid extraction was tested for its impact on the reproductive function of rats inhibited by partial food deprivation. Three five-day courses of once-daily injections of the preparation at 5 mg/kg restored the number of growing follicles and ovulating ova, estrous cycle duration, and uterine and ovarian weight to their levels found in intact rats.
