    Notizen: Nitrogen implantations were performed on a very low alloyed steel XC06, AISI 1006 at various doses (1017, 2 × 1017, 4 × 1017 ions cm-2) and various temperatures (20, 100, 150, 200°C). A study of the nitride phase evolution as a function of the two parameters (dose and temperature) is performed. The nitrogen distribution profiles are obtained using the 15N(p, αγ)12C nuclear reaction whereas the iron nitride phases are followed by means of glancing angle RX diffraction. (N)-martensite, ε-nitride and ε-carbonitride phases of different nitrogen and carbon composition are identified. These results are correlated with Mössbauer results that put in evidence a carbonitride formation depending on implantation temperature and with recent Rutherford backscattering results that quantify the carbon contamination depending on implantation conditions. Moreover a preferential orientation of these phases depending on temperature is noticed.
