Aus 2.3.4.5-Tetrachlor-tetrahydrothiophen durch Dehydrohalogenierung erhaltenes 2.4-Dichlor-thiophen wird chlormethyliert und die Chlormethylverbindung mit Blei(II)-nitrat zum 2.4-Dichlor-thiophen-aldehyd-(5) (I) oxydiert (Ausbeute 38% d. Th.). Der durch einige Derivate charakterisierte Aldehyd reagiert in der Cannizzaro-Reaktion normal und gibt mit Nitromethan 5-[2-Nitro-äthen-(1)-yl-(1)]-2.4-dichlor-thiophen (II).
