Notes:
Summary The Moszkowicz-operation is a simple but successful operative process, which leads to elimination of the varices in one third of the cases and to a considerable improvement in the symptoms in three quarter of those operated. The catheter should be introduced as deeply as possible to achieve the greatest possible obliteration-effect in the lower leg. The operative results can be further improved by a high ligature of the vena saphena and the inclusion of all the side-branches in the fovea ovalis, as well as, in particular, repeated percutaneous after-obliteration. Similar favourable results can be achieved with the Moszkowicz-operation to those achieved with more complicated operative processes.
