Zusammenfassung Das im Titel genannte Problem für ein dem Oseenschen ähnliches Modell, bei dem die Konvektionsströmung als reibungsfreie Scherströmung vorgegeben ist, wird für eine Kanalströmung mittels derWiener-Hopf-Methode exakt gelöst. Für den Fall, daß keine Rückströmung auftritt, ergibt die Grenzschichttheorie zweiter Ordnung das Resultat für den Wärmeübergang nahe der Plattenvorderkante als entsprechenden Grenzwert. Im Grenzfall einer reibungsfreien Flüssigkeit ist das Modell exakt, so daß Teil I direkt aufflüssige Metalle, derenPrandtlsche Zahl sehr klein ist, angewendet werden kann. Der Hauptzweck allerdings ist, den Boden für den mathematisch schwierigeren Teil II, der Reibungseffekte in vereinfachter Form behandelt, vorzubereiten.

Summary The title problem for an Oseen-like model, with convection at the undisturbed shear velocity and viscous dissipation neglected, is solved exactly by theWiener-Hopf technique when the flow is limited to a channel. The result for heat transfer near the leading edge of the plate, when there is no reverse flow, is recovered (in its limiting form) by second-order boundary-layer theory. The model is exact in the inviscid limit, so that Part I is directly applicable to liquid metals (whosePrandtl numbers are very small). But its main purpose is to resolve mathematical difficulties of Part II, which is concerned with viscous effects, in a simpler context.
