Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Im Corpuscarcinom des Menschen zeigt die alkalische Phosphatase keine signifikanten Unterschiede in histologisch unterschiedlich aufgebauten Carcinomen.
Notes: Summary In histologically different human endometrial carcinoma alcaline phosphatase shows no significant differences. There are as well no significant differences in activity of alcaline phosphatase in carcinomas of different pattern of growth. The results however conform the opinion of histochemists that phosphatase activity is higher in endophytic growing endometrial carcinoma than in the exophytic variety. Solid carcinomas have less activity of alcaline phosphatase than tubular carcinomas. The distribution of phosphatase in the carcinoma cell corresponds to its distribution in other tissues. So-called leucineaminopeptidase is significantly higher in infiltrating carcinomas than in the noninfiltrating variety and obviously corresponds to the destructive property of a tumor. The low leucineaminopeptidase-activity in necrotic carcinoma gives reason to believe that so-called leucineaminopeptidase always points to the metabolic activity of the examined tissue. Notes: The microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti joints brazed with aZr41.2Ti13.8Ni10.0Cu12.5Be22.5 (at.%) amorphous filler were investigated. With a Zr-based amorphousfiller, in this study, Ti joints with a homogeneous composition could be obtained by heating to wellbelow the α-β transformation temperature for a short time, so that the undesirable effects of the hightemperature heating are considerably diminished. The joints brazed at 790 °C for 10 min consisted ofthe coarse acicular structure rather than the fine Widmanstätten structure which generally deterioratesthe ductility of the joints. The joints with the homogenous coarse acicular structure, i.e. without aresidual liquid region, show almost the same mechanical properties as those required for base metalswithout heating. Although the residual liquid region in the joints deteriorates the ductility of the joints, this region could be successfully removed by a diminution in the quantity of the filler

Notes: In this study, joining characteristics of dissimilar Ti and Cu metals have beeninvestigated, when using both an Ag-based eutectic alloy as a filler and an Ag layer present on Tibase metal as a diffusion barrier. The observed microstructures were classified into threecharacteristic types, depending on the presence of a Ag layer at the Ti interface, e.g. first, thesample retaining thick continuous intermetallic layers, e.g. Ti2Cu, TiCu, Ti3Cu4, Ti2Cu3, and TiCu4by a significant dissolution of the Ti atoms into the molten filler, in the absence of a Ag coatinglayer onto the Ti base metal, second, the sample with relatively thin Ti-Cu intermetallic layers bythe reduced reaction of Ti with Cu due to a prominent decrease in the Ti dissolution, owing to therole of the Ag coating layer as a diffusion barrier, and finally, the sample without any brittle Ti-Cuintermetallics in the joint by a complete suppression of both the dissolution of the Ti atoms and itsreaction with the Cu elements in the molten filler due to the presence of a Ag layer

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe der biochemischen Methodik wurde an 20 Endometriumcarcinomen das Verhalten der Enzyme Aldolase, Lactatdehydrogenase und Malatdehydrogenase untersucht.
Notes: Summary With the help of biochemical methods the behavior of the enzymes aldolase, lactate dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenase, of 20 endometrial carcinomas was examined. Aldolase shows a lower activity in tubular, medium differentiated, endophytic, infiltrative growing noninflamed and nonnecrotic carcinomas. The activity of the lactate dehydrogenase is higher in the papillary and solid carcinomas than in the tubular variety, just as in the inflamed and medium undifferentiated tissues, as opposed to the noninflamed medium differentiated tissues. The malate dehydrogenase shows a higher activity in the tubular medium undifferentiated growing carcinomas, in infiltrated tissue and in exophytic and inflamed tumors than in the papillary, in solid and medium differentiated growing carcinomas, in the non infiltrating, in the endophytic growing and in those which do not go along with inflammatory changes. Solely in exophytic growing carcinoma the activity of aldolase shows a statistically significant elevation and in necrotic tissue the activity of malate dehydrogenase is significantly decreased.

Notes: Abstract The dissociation of amino acids such, as histidine, methionine and of shorter peptides can be studied by pulse Fourier transform.13C-NMR spectroscopy. The pH-dependencies of the13C-signals show directly the changes of the electronic charge densities of all carbon atoms caused by the dissociation process. Additional comparative studies of the pH and temperature dependencies of the CD spectra and the1H-NMR spectra give now better information on the steric and electronic changes due to the dissociation of polyfunctional amino acids and oligopeptides.
