    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Zwei ungewöhnliche Fälle von oculärer Toxoplasmose werden dargestellt. Eine 24jährige Patientin entwickelte retinale Gefäßneubildungen und Papillenproliferationen in Zusammenhang mit einer akuten oculären Toxoplasmose. Mit Rückbildung der Entzündung gingen die Neovaskularisationen ebenfalls zurück. Retinale Ischämie oder die Entzündung allein werden als mögliche kausale Ursache diskutiert. Eine 19jährige Patientin entwickelte ein Ödem des Nervus opticus und eine erhebliche Visusherabsetzung in Zusammenhang mit einem Toxoplasmoseherd im nasalen Quadranten der Netzhaut mit einer Sternfigur in der Macula. Bei Rückbildung des Prozesses entwickelte sich eine Opticusatrophie; das Sehvermögen normalisierte sich jedoch. Ödeme des Nervus opticus und Opticusatrophie werden als Folge einer diffusen und nicht einer fokalen Entzündung des Nervus opticus durch den Erreger angesehen.
    Notes: Abstract Two unusual cases of ocular toxoplasmosis are presented. A 24 year old woman developed retinal and optic nerve neovascularization in conjunction with acute ocular toxoplasmosis. The neovascularization regressed with resolution of the inflammation. The possibility of retinal ischemia or inflammation alone as an etiology are discussed. A 19 year old woman developed optic nerve edema and a marked decrease in vision associated with a nasal toxoplasma lesion and a macular star. With resolution of the process, optic atrophy developed but visual acuity returned to normal. Optic nerve edema and atrophy were felt to result from diffuse inflammation, but not from focal involvement in the nerve itself with the organism.

    Notes: Abstract The endings of human relationships, the processes of separation and termination, are discussed by the author, a psychoanalytically oriented psychiatrist, from the perspective of individual and group psychotherapy. Separations are viewed as psychologically traumatic, activating psychic states analogous to those seen in early childhood. The loss reactivates the toddler experience of giving up the mother as an encompassing need-satisfying object. A process of unresolved mourning ensues. The relationship of this entire experience to early states of self-identity formation explains its traumatic nature, yet provides new opportunities for continued consolidation of the sense of self. This, in turn, enhances one's potential for mutuality in new relationships.

The isotopic composition and label specificity of each of several preparations were verified by mass spectroscopy and proton NMR. The liquid phase Raman and the liquid and vapor phase infrared spectra are reported for these materials and for pyridine at room temperature. A new vibrational assignment consistent with frequency sum and product rule constraints is proposed. Thermodynamic functions calculated from the pyridine assignment are found to be in good agreement with published experimental values.
