Notes:
Pyridine-4-d, pyridine-2,6-d2 and pyridine 2,4,6-d3 have been prepared. The isotopic composition and label specificity of each of several preparations were verified by mass spectroscopy and proton NMR. The liquid phase Raman and the liquid and vapor phase infrared spectra are reported for these materials and for pyridine at room temperature. A new vibrational assignment consistent with frequency sum and product rule constraints is proposed. Thermodynamic functions calculated from the pyridine assignment are found to be in good agreement with published experimental values.
