Notes:
Advanced glycation products have been investigated by parent ion spectroscopy, employing B2/E = constant linked scans of furoyl ions obtained from hydrolysed glycated albumin and polylysine mixtures, without any extraction procedures. Using such an instrumental approach, together with exact mass measurements and collision spectroscopy, the identification of 2-(2-furoyl)-4-hydroxyl-1H-imidazole and 2-(2-furoyl)-4-carboxy-1H-imidazole among the advanced glycation products has been achieved.
