Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Abstoßung xenogener Organtransplantate ist das Ergebnis natürlicher, präformierter Antikörper.
Notes: Summary The rejection of xenogenic organ transplants is a result of the action of natural preformed antibodies. Using the mouse-to-rat model, we studied the rejection mechanism in order to examine whether CyA can overcome rejection in a heart xenograft model or not. To examine the viability of this, we also transplanted mouse hearts to mouse recipients; these hearts continued beating for over 100 days. In contrast to this, mouse hearts in rats were rejected after 3 or 4 days. CyA did not alter the rejection time: this differs from other xenograft models, the results of which have already been published.
