Notes: Abstract. Objective: Adjuvant treatment for patients with axillary node negative (ANN) breast cancer is controversial because operation alone gives a 70% cure rate. Features which predict recurrence are needed and we therefore evaluated the predictive value of tumor diameter and vascular involvement as well as of estrogen receptors (ER), progesterone receptors (PR), p53, MIB-1, c-erb and PCNA demonstrated by immunohistological staining in 178 patients with ANN breast cancer. Although ER status, tumor diameter and vascular space involvement were significantly correlated to the development of recurrence, their sensitivity, specificity and predictive value were too low to give them clinical value.

Notes: Abstract. The Standard Model is extended by a $SU(2)_L$ singlet of vector leptoquarks. An additional SU(4) gauge symmetry between right-handed up quarks and right-handed leptons is introduced to render the model renormalizable. The arrangement is made in such a way that no conflict with low energy restrictions is encountered. The $SU(2)_L$ singlet mediates interactions between the right-handed leptons and up type quarks for which only moderate low energy restrictions $M_{LQ}/g_{LQ} 〉 $ few hundred GeV exist. However, it is not a candidate to explain the anomalous HERA data at large $Q^2$ because theoretical reasons imply that $g_{LQ} \geq g_s$ which would give a much stronger anomalous HERA effect. We furthermore argue that the inequality $g_{LQ} \geq g_s$ is a general feature of consistent vector leptoquark models. Although our model is not relevant for HERA, it is interesting per se as a description of leptoquarks of mass $\leq$ 1 TeV consistent with all low-energy requirements.

Notes: Abstract. The complete density matrix for all polarization configurations in the process $\gamma^*/Z^* \rightarrow t\bar t$ , where $\gamma^*/Z^*$ is an off-shell photon or Z boson and t is the top quark, is calculated numerically including oneloop QCD corrections, i.e. virtual and real gluon contributions in $O(\alpha_s)$ . The analysis is done in the framework of the helicity formalism. The results are particularly suited for top quark production at the Linear Collider, but may be useful in other circumstances as well. Relations to LEP and Tevatron physics are pointed out.

Notes: Abstract The measurement of the forward-backward asymmetries of heavy quarks provides one of the most precise determinations of sin2 θ W inZ decays. We discuss in detail the one-loop QCD radiative corrections to these asymmetries. Results are given for single heavy-quark jet asymmetries and asymmetries of the thrust axis, as well as for heavy-quark two-jet final states.

Description / Table of Contents: Aminocarbonylthioformates  -  Preparation and ReactivitySodium aminocarbonylthioformate NaSCOCONH2 (II) is obtained by reaction of sodium cyanodithioformate with acetone in presence of a secondary amine and water. II permits to produce the acid HSCOCONH2 · H2O (IX) and salts MII(SCOCONH2)2 · 2H2O. In basic aqueous solutions hydrolysis of II to oxaminate and oxalate, respectively, takes place, an excess of aqueous ammonia leads to amidino formic acid. In organic solvents the reaction of IX with N-bases yields stable ammonium salts. The results of i.r. spectroscopic and thermogravimetric measurements are discussed.
