В восстановленных Pt−Pb/Al2O3 меньшая часть свинща существует как Pbo в сплаве с Pt. Бϕльшая часть свинща не восстановливается и существует в виде поверхностных соединений PbII, стабилизированных носителем.
    Notes: Abstract The results of temperature-programmed reduction are consistent with those of chemisorption of O2 and H2. In reduced Pt−Pb/Al2O3, a minor part of lead exists as Pbo in an alloy with Pt. The major part of lead is not reduced and exists as carrier-stabilized PbII surface species.

Одновременно уменьшается количество слабо адсорбированного водорода и усиливается адсорбция кислорода. Найдена корреляция между количеством слабоадсорбированного водорода и активносты.
    Notes: Abstract With increasing amounts of Pb or Sn the weak adsorption of hydrogen decreases, the adsorption of oxygen increases and the activity in the dehydrogenation of cyclohexane decreases. A correlation could be found between the amount of weakly adsorbed hydrogen and the dehydrogenation activity.

    Description / Table of Contents: Surface Chemistry, Sintering, and Redispersion of Pd/Al2O3 CatalystsSurface chemistry of Pd/Al2O3 has been investigated by temperature-programmed reduction, O2 chemisorption, and u.v.-vis spectroscopy. Depending on conditions of different thermal pretreatments especially in O2, different chlorine-free and chlorine-containing Pd compounds exist on the alumina. Sintering and redispersion of Pd are governed by properties of chlorine-free Pd oxide. The mechanism of Pd sintering consists in the thermal decomposition of a two-dimensional PdO phase; redispersion consists in formation of this phase by spreading of bulk PdO. There is no direct connection between Pd oxidation and redispersion. The discussion compares properties of Pd/Al2O3 and Pt/Al2O3.
    Notes: Die Oberflächenchemie von Pd/Al2O3 wurde mittels temperaturprogrammierter Reduktion, O2-Chemisorption und UV-Vis-Spektroskopie untersucht. In Abhängigkeit von verschiedenen thermischen Vorbehandlungen, speziell in O2, existieren verschiedene chlorhaltige und chlorfreie Pd-Verbindungen auf dem Al2O3. Sintern und Redispergieren von Pd werden durch die Eigenschaften von chlorfreiem Pd-Oxid bestimmt. Der Mechanismus des Sinterns besteht im thermischen Zerfall einer zweidimensionalen PdO-Phase; Redispergieren ist die Bildung dieser Phase durch Spreiten von bulk-PdO. Pd-Oxydation und Redispergierung sind nicht miteinander gekoppelt. Die Eigenschaften von Pd/Al2O3 und Pt/Al2O3 werden vergleichend diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Mechanism of Sintering of Highly Dispersed Pt on Al2O3 in OxygenSintering of highly dispersed Pt on alumina in O2 consists in a slow thermal decomposition of a PtIV surface compound, followed by a fast coalescence of the highly mobile, zerovalent Pt, formed during the decomposition. Sintering according to this mechanism is inhibited by O2. The slower Ostwald ripening, promoted by O2, comes into effect only after complete decomposition of the PtIV surface compound.
    Notes: Das Sintern von hochdispersem Pt auf Al2O3 in O2 besteht im langsamen Zerfall einer PtIV-Oberflächenverbindung, gefolgt von schneller Koaleszenz des beim Zerfall entstandenen hochbeweglichen nullwertigen Pt. Das Sintern nach diesem Mechanismus wird durch O2 gehemmt. Die langsamere Ostwald-Reifung, die durch O2 beschleunigt wird, wird als Mechanismus des Sinterns erst nach vollständigem Zerfall der PtIV-Oberflächenverbindung wirksam.
