Summary After an injection of 1.5 mgm. of ethinylnortestosterone acetate every second day, the Yoshida sarcoma in mature female albino rats showed a continuous decrease in the rate of mitoses. In the controls these rates progressively increased. Although the weights of the tumors remained the same in both groups, those affected by the hormone were firmer and showed less necrosis than the control animals. The survival time of the animals was not altered.

Zusammenfassung Die Beurteilung einer Androgen- oder Gestagenbehandlung bei 2 Uterussarkomen durch Mitosezählung war wegen der schon in den Ausgangspräparaten zu geringen Mitosenzahl praktisch nicht möglich. Untersuchungen am Yoshida-Sarkom bei ausgewachsenen weiblichen Albinoratten ergaben nach Injektion von 1,5 mg Äthinylnortestosteronacetat jeden 2. Tag eine kontinuierliche Abnahme der Mitosenrate, während diese bei den Kontrollen laufend anstieg. Während das Tumorgewicht dasselbe blieb, zeigten die unter Hormoneinfluß stehenden Yoshida-Sarkome eine festere Konsistenz und eine geringere Nekrosenbildung als die Kontrollen. Die Überlebenszeit der Tiere war nicht verändert.
