Zusammenfassung Beim Mammacarcinom sind brusterhaltende Operationen nur unter Einhaltung folgender Bedingungen erlaubt: 1. Die Tumorgröße darf das Stadium pT1 nicht überschritten haben. 2. Die Achselhöhle muß vollständig ausgeräumt werden. 3. Ein kompetenter Pathologe muß die histologischen Untersuchungen durchführen. 4. Es ist eine sorgfältig geplante und konsequente Strahlentherapie mit einer Dosis von mindestens 60 Gy zu verabreichen.

Summary Breast preserving operations in cases of breast cancer are permitted only under following conditions: 1) Tumor extension should not exceed stage pT1. 2) Axillary lymph nodes have to be removed completely. 3) Histological examination requires a competent pathologist. 4) Carefully planned and consequently applied radiotherapy with a dosage of at least 60 Gy (6000 rad) is mandatory.
