Description / Table of Contents: Es wurde die elektrische Leitfähigkeit von Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuk (SBR-1502), der mit unterschiedlichen Konzentrationen von sehr schnell spritzbarem Furnace-Ruß (70, 80, 90 und 100 phr) beladen war, untersucht. Auf der Basis des Modells von Holm wurde eine qualitative Beschreibung für die elektrische Leitfähigkeit durch diese Verbundstoffe gesucht. Der Druckkoeffizient K wurde berechnet und zeigte eine starke Abhängigkeit von den Rußkonzentrationen.

Notes: The electrical conduction was investigated in styrene butadiene rubber (SBR-1502) loaded with different concentrations of fast extrusion furnace (FEF) black (70, 80, 90, and 100 phr). On the bases of Holm's model, a qualitative description for the electrical conduction through these composites was sought. The pressure coefficient K was calculated and found to be strongly dependent on the carbon black concentrations.

Notes: Reaction of 5,6-dihydro-5-azacytidine hydrochloride 1 with 2-acetoxy-isobutyryl chloride produced 5′-O-(2,5,5-trimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-on-2-yl)-3′-O-acetyl-5,6-dihydro-2,2′-anhydro-1-β-D-arabinofuranosyl-5-azacytosine hydrochloride 2, which upon partial hydrolysis with EtOH/HCl at 4°C gave 3′-O-acetyl-5,6-dihydro-2,2′-anhydro-1-β-D-arabinofuranosyl-5-azacytosine hydrochloride 3. The hydrolysis of 3 with EtOH/HCl at 25°C gave 2,2′-anhydro-5,6-dihydro-1-β-D-arabinofuranosyl-5-azacytosine hydrochloride 4. Silylation oxidation of 3 and 4 with BSTFA or BSA in acetonitrile produced the N-substituted derivatives of 1-β-D-arabinofuranosyl-5-azacytosine 8 and 7, respectively.

Notes: The donor-acceptor interaction of acrylonitrile (AN) with indene (In) has been investigated by means of ultraviolet spectroscopy and dielectric polarization measurements. The latter method yielded a value of 0.5 for the association constant of the charge-transfer-complex (CTC) and a 4.02 D for its dipole moment. The copolymerization of the two monomers was characterized by a tendency towards alternation when conducted in the bulk. This might be due to the participation of a weak CTC in the process of copolymerization. However, this tendency disappeared in polar solvents such as DMF.

Notes: A procedure has been developed for the automated determination of aflatoxin M1 in decreamed milk, by using on-line dialysis and subsequent trace enrichment on a reverse phase column. After foreflush to the analytical column the determination is performed with fluorescence detection. Fully automated analysis within 10 min is thus possible with reproducible dialysis recoveries above 50% (CV is 3.3%, n = 20) and detection levels of 50 ng/kg.

Notes: Styrene butadience rubber (SBR-1502) loaded with different concentrations of FEF carbon black was tested to find out the effect of pressure on its electrical properties during vulcanization. Using the thermodynamically calculated values of the pressure coefficient (K), the thermoelastic coefficient (L = ∂T/∂P) was also estimated and compared with that obtained by other workers. The thermoelastic coefficient was found to be strongly dependent on the carbon black concentration.

Notes: Monothiomalonamides (1a, b) coupled with arenediazonium salts yield the α-arylhydrazone derivatives (2a - c), Reaction of 1a, b with α-haloketones afforded polysubstituted thiazoles 6a - c. Compounds 6 condensed with p-nitrosodimethylaniline and coupled with arenediazonium salts yield the azomethine derivatives 7a - d and the arylhydrazones 8a - h, respectively.Compounds 1a, b behave differently towards hydrazonyl chlorides, they yielded arylazodimethylthiazoles 13a - c and thiazolylacetanilides 12a - c respectively.

Notes: The kinetics of the hydrolysis of some substituted benzylidene benzoichydrazide 1a-e in 40% (v/v) ethanol buffer mixture have been investigated by differential pulse polarography. The mechanism of the hydrolysis in acidic buffer solutions is discussed.The catalysis by H⊕ involves the conversion of the hydrazide compound to its conjugated acid in a rapid preequilibrium step followed by a slow attack of water. The effects of pH, water, organic solvents and molecular structure on the reaction rate and the activation are investigated.

Notes: Studies were carried out on the grafting of butyl acrylate (BA) to amylose by the ceric ion method. After removing the homo-PBA with THF and toluene, and the ungrafted amylose with 0.5NNaOH, the PBA content of the graft copolymers was determined by acid hydrolysis with 1N HCl. The influence of reaction time on the grafting yields was determined and the largest values were: 82% for the grafting efficiency, 246% for the percent grafting, 62% for the grafted amylose, 48% for the grafted PBA, and 64% for the total conversion.
