Zusammenfassung Es wird über den Fall einer Sepsis durchCornebacterium JK-Gruppe bei einem polytraumatisierten Patienten berichtet. Da sich diese kürzlich in den USA beschriebene Gruppe von Bakterien durch eine extreme Antibiotikaresistenz auszeichnet, gestaltet sich die Therapie solcher Infektionen sehr schwierig. Gefährdet sind vor allem Patienten mit Störungen des Immunsystems im intensivmedizinischen und onkologischen Bereich. Da die Keime auch bei Gesunden als normale Hautflora vorkommen können, sollte in gefährdeten Bereichen auf das Aufreten solcher Mikroorganismen geachtet werden.

Summary A case of septicemia byCorynebacterium group JK is reported in a polytraumatized patient. As the significant feature of this recently isolated group of bacteria is its resistance to almost all antibiotics, therapy of infections is very difficult. Infections can occur in immunocompromised hosts in intensive-care and oncological departments. Both sections should be monitored for these germs, because the JK group can be a part of the normal flora of healthy individuals.
