    Notes: The levels of human placental lactogen (HPL) in the serum of expectant mothers both subjected to and not subjected to aircraft noise were measured. The HPL levels in the quiet reference area and in the noise area were similar before the 29th week of pregnancy. However, the HPL levels of subjects in the noise area tended to be lower than those in the reference area after the 30th week of pregnancy and the difference became significant after the 36th week of pregnancy. The lower HPL levels were associated with lower birth weight for infants of mothers who lived in the noise area.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Было установлено, что при восстановлении NO с помощью H2, MoO3−ZrO2 и Fe2O3−SiO2 являются наиболее активными среди всех десяти типов серий катализаторов Mo и Fe. На основе ИК-исследований было заключено, что высокая каталитическая активность вызвана способностью этих катализаторов образовывать адсорбированные частицы NO−.
    Notes: Abstract In the reduction of NO with H2, MoO3−ZrO2 and Fe2O3−SiO2 were found to be the most active among each ten kinds of a series of Mo and Fe catalysts. On the basis of an IR study, the high catalytic activities were conclued, to be caused by the ability of the catalysts to the formation of adsorbed NO− species.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Алкилирование толуола метанолом проводилось при 500°C и при различных концентрациях основных катализаторов. Наибольшей активностью обладает MgO, особенно когда обработан азотом. Эффект азота аномально велик: образуется 8,8% этилбензола и 2,3% стирола.
    Notes: Abstract The alkylation of toluene with methanol was carried out at 500°C over various base catalysts. The activity of MgO was found to be highest when treated specially with nitrogen. The effect of nitrogen was anomalously large, 8, 8% ethylbenzene and 2.3% styrene being formed.
