    Notes: Résumé Le métabolisme de l'insecticide GS 13005 (marqué par le C14 dans l'hétérocycle) fut étudié chez l'animal et dans la plante. Une conversion considérable de cette molécule en CO2 fut constatée dans tous les deux. En plus aucune accumulation de l'insecticide intact ou de ses produits métaboliques n'a pu être observée, ni dans la plante, ni dans l'animal.

    Notes: Summary The triazine herbicides are potent inhibitors of theHill reaction, resembling the phenylureas, acylanilides and carbamates. The inhibition of the photosynthesis by the triazines is the most obvious explanation for their mode of action in plant metabolism. Besides this there are also effects on light independent reactions where the effective concentrations are higher than those inhibiting the photosynthesis. Particularly, a positive influence of the triazines on the uptake of the nutrients by the roots was noted. Changes in the nitrogen metabolism of the plants, due to increased uptake of nitrate from the medium, result in a higher content of organic nitrogen in the plants. Several enzyme systems in plants and in micro-organisms are influenced by the triazine herbicides. Until now, the mechanism of action has not been elucidated. Concerning the phenomenon of the selectivity of the triazine herbicides, several factors may be responsible. The different abilities of the plant species to metabolize the herbicide and to translocate it to the active centres in the cells are significant from the biochemical point of view.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary A method is described which permits the automatic preparation on computers of altitude charts and of perspective reliefs of functions of a complex variable. As an example, the analytic continuation of the periodic solution ofVan Der Pol's equation into the complex domain is treated. For calculating the function data and for carrying out the drawing work, use was made of the computer IBM 7090/1410 and the magnetic tape controlled data plotter EAI 3440 respectively, both at “Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Instrumentelle Mathematik” in Bonn (Germany).
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Methode beschrieben, die es ermöglicht, Höhenkarten und perspektivische Reliefdarstellungen von Funktionen einer komplexen Veränderlichen mit Hilfe elektronischer Rechenanlagen automatisch herzustellen. Als Anwendung wird die analytische Fortsetzung der periodischen Lösung derVan der Pol-Gleichung ins Komplexe behandelt. Zur Berechnung der Funktionswerte wurde die Rechenanlage IBM 7090/1410, zur Zeichnung der magnetbandgesteuerte Dataplotter EAI 3440 des Rheinisch-Westfälischen Institutes für Instrumentelle Mathematik in Bonn, benutzt.

    Notes: Summary This paper is concerned with the learning matrix for non-binary signals (LMn) as a classifying network. It can be shown that the properties of a LMn are determined by five parameters. One of these parameters corresponds to a criterion of similarity as the basis of the classification process. Two types of LMn, incorporating different criteria of similarity are investigated and compared as far as the accuracy and the invariance of classification are concerned. The second part of the paper deals with the technical realization of both types of the LMn. There the main problem is the storage of non-binary information in the connecting elements of the LMn. This difficulty can be met by the application of control techniques. Finally some results of investigations on transfluxors are reported which show that transfluxors are suitable connecting elements of a LMn.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary 30 year old male patient with recurrent hemoptoe. The hemorrhages of the lung were accompanied by fever and roentgenologically slight infiltrations of the middle and lower compartments of the lung with simultaneous decrease of hemoglobine. The disease having lasted 16 months the patient has been free of complaints for the last 5 months. The biopsy of the kidney resulted in the diagnosis of a momentarily inactive proliferative focal glomerulitis. This could be confirmed by electron microscopical investigation, although there were found traces of activity. of the cell elements. Deposits of iron faintly indicated under the light microscope, were confirmed by electron microscopy. The total picture corresponds to a typical Goodpasture' syndrome.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung 30jähriger Mann mit rezidivierender Hämoptoe. Die Lungenblutungen waren von Fieber und röntgenologisch flüchtigen Lungeninfiltraten in Mittel- und Untergeschossen, gleichzeitigem Abfall des Hämoglobins begleitet. Bisherige Krankheitsdauer 16 Monate, die letzten 5 Monate war der Patient völlig beschwerdefrei. Die Nierenbiopsie ergab eine momentan inaktive proliferative Herdglomerulitis, die auch elektronenmikroskopisch nachgewiesen werden konnte. Allerdings fanden sich ultrastrukturell noch deutliche Zeichen für Aktivität der Zellelemente. Die lichtmikroskopisch nur angedeutete Eisenablagerung im Deckepithel der Glomerula konnte elektronenmikroskopisch bestätigt werden. — Das Gesamtbild entspricht einem typischen Goodpasture-Syndrom.
