The dehydrogenating and hydrogenating activity of zincdoted nickel catalysts on cyclohexane has been investigated. It was found that a rest of nickel oxide remaining in the reduced catalyst causes the destructive hydrogenation. This activity of the nickel oxide is suppressed by higher amounts of zincoxide.

Die Fähigkeit zinkdotierter Nickel-Katalysatoren. Cyclohexan zu dehydrieren und hydrierend zu spalten, wurde untersucht. Aus den Ergebnissen wird geschlossen, daß ein Nickeloxidrest im reduzierten Katalysator für die destruktive Hydrierung verantwortlich ist. Versuche mit vollständig reduzierten und teilweise reduzierten Nickeloxidproben bestätigten dieses Ergebnis. Diese Wirkung des Nickeloxides ließ sich durch Zinkdotierung unterdrücken.
