Notes: Summary This paper reports that cortisol at physiological concentrations minimizes the enhancement of human natural killer (NK) cell activity in vitro by immune interferon (IFN-γ). This effect may be important for the regulation of NK cytotoxicity in vivo.

Description / Table of Contents: Sommario Il presente studio riguarda 77 pazienti epilettici in trattamento cronico con fenobarbital, carbamazepina e difenilidantoina.
Notes: Abstract 77 epileptics on chronic treatment with phenobarbital (PB), carbamazepine (CBZ) and phenytoin (PHT) were investigated for the effects of the drugs after the steady-state plasma concentrations had been attained. T-lymphocytes were markedly depleted in patients on PHT and CBZ but were unaffected in those on PB. Depletion of B-lymphocytes was less constant. Other immunological parameters, such as histocompatibility antigens, were evaluated in these patients.
