Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Radical copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA,M 1) with 2-naphthyl methacrylate (2NM,M 2) is characterized by the reactivity ratios: $$\begin{gathered} r_1 = 0.33 \pm 0.08 \hfill \\ r_2 = 1.93 \pm 0.16. \hfill \\ \end{gathered}$$ Analysing the α-CH3 signal in the1H-NMR spectra, the coisotactic alternating addition probability is found to be σ = 0.25.
