Notes: Abstract Time-resolved photoconductivity measurements have been used to characterize electron traps in wide-gap n-HgO0.3Cd0.7Te for the first time. The characterization was made possible by combining the time-resolved photoconductive data with the analytical method conventionally used in DLTS spectroscopy. Two electron traps were found in the band gap with 61 meV and 79 meV below the conduction band edge, their concentrations are 1.1×1013 cm−3 and 5.8×1011 cm−3, respectively. Compared with DLTS spectroscopy, this characterization method markedly simplifies sample preparation and experimental procedure.

Notes: Summary From January 1, 1972 to December 31, 1979, 405 carotid endarterectomies were performed on 301 patients: 122 patients had an asymptomatic lesion; operative mortality was 0 and morbidity was 2.4%. At follow-up examination, 21.6 % of the patients had died, and the postoperative fate of 11 more was unknown. Among the 87 remaining patients, 94.3 % were still asymptomatic, but 5.7 % showed neurologic deficits.

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Zwischen November 1975 und Dezember 1979 wurden 44 Amputationsverletzungen beobachtet.
Notes: Summary From November 1975 to December 1979 44 extremity amputations were dealt with. 35 attempts at replantation (28 upper extremities) were made. 20 replanted extremities healed. Late results 2 to 4 years postoperatively: 6 patients reassumed their previous activity, 5 more show sufficient to satisfactory functional recovery. Good functional late results depend on the nowadays widely standardized one-stage operation and on a consistent cooperation between patient, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, surgeon and neurologist in the posthospitalisation period. In the future, replantation should not be the exception but should be considered more and more as the therapy of choice.
