    Notizen: Summary A case of a 5 1/2 years old boy with a plexiform ameloblastoma of the jaw is reported. 6 years after resection of the primary tumor metastases developed in a lymph node at the left side of the neck and in both lungs. Thoracotomy revealed many small metastases spread all over the lungs. Light and electron microscopical studies of the primary tumor showed a typical plexiform ameloblastoma without signs of malignancy. In the metastases, however, these studies revealed the histological criteria of a malignant tumor with marked pleomorphism of tumor cells, increase of heterochromatin, enlargement of nucleoli and invagination of nuclear membranes. After enucleation of two metastases and therapy with cytostatic agents for several months no further metastases have been observed within a period of 6 years. Comparative light and electron microscopic studies of both primary tumor and metastases demonstrate that there are no histological criteria to identify the primary tumor as a malignant ameloblastoma. Ameloblastoma with distant metastases is a rare tumor in children, this case is only the third reported in the literature.

    Notizen: Abstract On the basis of studies of about 100 collections of the groupConocybe mesospora and after comparison of extra-European material we conclude that, within the European representatives of this complex, it is necessary to distinguish nine species and two varieties. Three new species are described:Conocybe subxerophytica Sing. & Hauskn.,C. minima Sing. & Hauskn. andC. roberti Sing. & Hauskn. C. mesospora var.subalpina Sing. is now recognized as an autonomous species, butC. brunneola (Kühn. ex)Kühn. & Watling is understood as variety ofC. microspora (Velen.)Dennis. C. excedens var.pseudomesospora Sing. & Hauskn. is described as a new variety.C. affinis Sing. is indicated for Europe.C. microsperma Sing. is the new name ofC. microspora (Vel.)Dennis ss.Dennis. A full description of nine taxa of this group is given and a key to 11 taxa occurring in Europe added. Seven taxa are illustrated for the first time with colored photographs. All taxa known to us from other continents and belonging to theC. mesospora group have been compared with the most similar European species or varieties.

    Notizen: Using a multistage extraction apparatus of a new type, crude Thevetin was separated into the two components Cerberoside (Thevetin B) and Thevetin A. The solvent consumption was low and there was no disturbing emulgation of the phases in each other. The separation efficiency corresponds with the approximate calculations based on distribution coefficients and ratio of flow rates.
