Abstract A rare case of angiosarcoma in the oral cavity was investigated by light and electron microscopy. Immunohistochemical findings and the recognition of Weibel-Palade bodies supported the opinion that this tumor was a malignant hemanigoendothelioma. However, electron microscopic observation revealed various tumor cells resembling endothelial cells, pericytes, and undifferentiated mesenchymal cells, suggesting that the origin of this tumor might be undifferentiated mesenchymal cells.
