Notizen:
Summary Implantation of the femoral artery and vein into the free-transplanted, isolated, medial capita of the gastrocnemius muscle in rats led to revascularization of this part of the muscle. After 4 days, in the muscle part lying near the implanted vessels, small vessels were seen that came from the femoralis vein. After 3 weeks, the whole free graft was revascularized up to the surrounding tissue beneath the Gore-Tex surgical membrane. An invasion of motile cells preceded the revascularization; the cells occupied the peri- and endomysium of the graft. After 4 weeks no muscle scars could be observed in the transplant.
