Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Bei 1769 Patienten mit colorectalem Carcinom gelang durch Verbesserungen von Vorbereitung and chirurgischer Technik von 1973–84 eine drastische Verminderung der postoperativen Komplikationen and der Letalität (1981–84: Colonresektion 0,9%, Rectumexstirpation 1,9%,-resection 2,3%).
Notes: Summary Due to improvements in preparation and surgical technique, a dramatic reduction in postoperative morbidity and mortality was achieved from 1973 to 1984 in 1769 patients with colorectal carcinoma (1981–1984: colon resection 0.9%, anterior resection of the rectum 2.3%, abdominoperineal excision 1.9%). At the same time, an increase in curative resections and in palliative resections has been possible, instead of the prognostically unfavorable bypass operations. In addition, more sphincter-preserving operations in tumors of the low and mid-rectum were carried out and there was a reduction in the number of protective colostomies.
