Notes: Summary The endothelial cell of Amphioxus has an endocytotic capability since both ferritin and horseradish peroxidase, when injected into the endostylar artery, became localized within endothelial cell cytoplasmic vesicles. The endothelial cells also contain vesicles within which the lysosomal enzyme acid phosphatase has been localized. Because of the presence of an endocytotic capability and lysosomes, these cells possess both the means and the method for the acquisition and disposal of exogenous proteins.
