Contributions to the Chemistry of Halosilane Adducts, X. Bis(2,2′-bipyridine) Complexes of Silicon, Direct Synthesis, Structure, and PropertiesBis(2,2′-bipyridine) complexes of silicon (1-13) have been synthesized by the direct reaction of 2,2′-bipyridine with diiodosilanes SiXYI2 in chloroform. The new method is generally applicable. The new compounds are ionic. In solution they contain the cis-octahedral [SiXYbipy2]2+-cation (for X, Y ≠ I). Similar structures are deduced for the solid state. Ionisation of the Sil bonds may occur in complexes with X, Y = I. Their solvolytic properties are dependant on the substituents of Si. These properties may be related to the relative acceptor strength of the silanes. Steric factors appear to be of little importance.
Notizen:
