Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Poland's syndrome, first described in 1841, is a congenital defect that in women includes unilateral hypo-plasia or aplasia of the breast. Miihlbauer subdivides this syndrome into four stages of severity. During the past 5 years, in the Dept. of Surgery at the University of Freiburg, we observed 30 women with unilateral defects of the breast, 4 of them with Poland's syndrome stage 4, 1 with Poland's syndrome stage 3. On the basis of these cases the different methods of treatment are discussed.
