Conclusions 1. Low-carbon steel 10G2S1D is characterized by low stability of supercooled austenite and low hardenability. 2. The optimum heat treatment is quenching from 960–980°C, with soaking 1.5 min per mm of thickness, and tempering at 660–680°C, with soaking 4–5 min per mm of thickness, and cooling in water or in air.
