Lebensjahr.
Notes:
Summary With the help of the TGZ appliance, changes in the size of nuclei in the stroma of the endometrium corporis of foeti, newborn and children were measured. Thus the nuclei of the stroma in the foetus reveal an enlargement daring the foetal life, reaching a maximum in the tenth month of pregnancy. After birth there is a reduction in the size of the nuclei up until approximately the first year of life. From this age on and until the 7th year of life no change in the size of the nuclei can be observed. In girls between ages of 8 and 11, i.e. in the stage preceding menarche, the size of the nuclei would appear to increase again. This increase, however, cannot be proved significant statistically. In this stage, however, the variance of nuclear size again increases significantly, which likewise can be considered to express a renewed increase of activity. It is probable that the alterations in the size of the nucleus represent differences in the intensity of growth in the stromatic section of the endometrium corporis during the stages of life under examination.
