Notes: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of vibration device in gas transferrate for usage as intravenous lung assist device. Specific attention was focused on the effect ofmembrane vibration. Quantitative experimental measurements were performed to evaluate theperformance of the device, and to identify membrane vibration dependence on hemolysis. Scalinganalysis was then used to infer the dimensionless groups that correlate the performance of avibrated hollow tube membrane oxygenator. The experimental design and procedure are then givenfor a device for assessing the effectiveness of membrane vibrations. This ILAD is used to providesome insight into how wall vibrations might enhance the performance of an intravascular lung assistdevice. The time and the frequency response of PVDF sensor were investigated through variousfrequencies in the ILAD. In these devices, the flow of blood and the source of oxygen wereseparated by a semipermeable membrane allows oxygen to diffuse into and out of the f1uid,respectively. The results of experiments have shown vibrating ILAD performs effectively

Notes: In this study, we attempts to develop a sensing method to detect mismatched DNA in order todiagnose cancer. The sensing method will be developed to use for early diagnosis of cancer. Thus, proteinimmobilization was applied on the surface of the sensor in order to facilitate the detection of mismatchedDNA. This method was designed to achieve the Ni-His-Tag to selectively bond with MutS, which has acovalent bond with the His-Tag, by using Ni-NTA. This method is troublesome because it involves anumber of repeated composition processes. This method need gold surface to immobilize NTA(nitrotriamino acid). But this process is very complicated and expensive cost. Therefore, we try toimmobilize NTA using PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate) polymer in this research to improve thismethod. In this study revealed that we could directly immobilize the NTA to the PMMA substrate not usedGold substrate. Also, we could directly immobilize the MutS to the NTA using the EDC solution. Inaddition, we can expect that the mismatched DNA can be detected from the results

Notes: The effectiveness of the visual feedback to improve ability with the sense and muscularstrength of human in our bicycle system was quantitatively verified in our study. Experiments wereperformed to find the factors related to the training of equilibrium sense. The subjects consisted ofyoung and the aged and the group of young people was compared against the group of the aged. Weinvestigated three different training modes, non-visual feedback (NVF), visual feedback of theweight (VFW), and visual feedback of the center of pressure (VFC) and measured the riding timeand speed, the weight shift, and the center of pressure (COP) for twenties and seventies. The resultsshowed that the running capability of the young and the aged became much better after repeatedtraining. In addition, it was found out that the ability to control postural balance and the capabilityof equilibrium sense were improved with the presentation of the visual feedback information. Theseresults will be effective in the diagnosis of equilibrium sense and vestibular function with the aged
