Notes: Summary We used the method of autoradiography to control the radiationsensibility of the squamous—epithelium—cancer of the portio uteri by telecobalt rays. From 30 patients we took a point-biopsy from the tumor before the radiation and at the 10th day of the radiation after they had got a dosis of 1500 R of telecobalt rays. The point-biopsies were labeled in3H-Thymidin and using the deeping-method we counted the labeled cells for the3H-Index. According to these changes of the Index we made a prognose of the further desease. In 78% of all cases we got a agreement with the clinical current! Because of the high coincidence between prognoses and reality the “3H-Thymidin-Test” seems to be a good method, to select the therapy earlier than before. We win time enough to prefer the operation and perhaps to save the patient, what is demonstrated by two patients with bad prognose, who got therefore secondly a Wertheim-Meigs-operation. Current investigations will be made to see, if the “3H-Thymidin-Test” will be successful by other tonus of cancer-therapy (like Cytostatica etc.).

Notes: Summary Brain tissue embolism in the coronary, leptomeningeal and pulmonary arteries was discovered microscopically following the autopsy of a female newborn. Death occurred 8 h after breech delivery, which had been complicated by both arms being turned up beside the head. The dislodged brain tissue originated from the left cerebellar hemisphere and had entered the venous blood stream through a rupture of the left sinus transversus. Both “paradoxical” systemic and pulmonary artery embolization ensued. The baby died from the combined effects of cerebral haemorrhage, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction and shock.
