Notes: Abstract Experiments on rats showed that preparations with a marked prophylactic action against the development of pulmonary edema in unirradiated animals are in some cases ineffective (or may even aggravate the development of edema) in irradiated (650 R) rats. Conversely, substances ineffective or detrimental in unirradiated animals may have a marked prophylactic action in irradiated rats.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Die forging of hemispherical blanks of pseudo-α-titanium alloy in the temperature range of the (α+β)-region in a dynamic recrystallization regime for β-phase leads to preparation in the metal of a weak prismatic texture and components with a predominantly basal orientation form in the vertical direction of a layer in which they are arranged not with a continuous front, but intermittently. 2. The weakly textured state of the metal with a discontinuous layered arrangement of components with a predominantly basal orientation gives rise in the vertical and chord directions to isotropicity of ductility, a little anisotropy for strength, and marked anisotropy for impact strengtha 1.

Notes: Conclusion Dynamic recrystallization of cast β-grain in alloys type VT-6S, which proceeds most actively at high temperatues (≥1200°C) and high rates of deformation (≥10 sec−1), causes refinement of cast grain and reorientation of crystallites.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Deformation of pseudo-α-alloy in the upper part of the (α+β)-region (from tm to tp.t −50°C) which provides occurrence of dynamic recrystallization independent of the deformation scheme leads to preparation of a multicomponent texture. Here the structure consists of recrystallized β-grains with a lamellar intergranular structure and individual round α-grains with toothed boundaries. This structure provides quasi-anisotropy of properties in the plane of the sheet, and also high and isotropic values for corrosion-mechanical strength. 2. Deformation in the lower part of the (α+β)-region (from tp.t −100°C to tp.t −150°C), which does not provide occurrence of dynamic recrystallization processes, leads independent of the deformation scheme to preparation either of a predominantly prismatic texture, or a texture of the inclined basal type with a structure consisting mainly of α-phase plates. In alloy with this texture and a predominantly prismatic texture marked anisotropy of strength properties and a reduction in low-cycle fatigue endurance in a corrosive medium is observed for transverse specimens.

Notes: Abstract The increased thermal conductivity below Tc in YBa2Cu3O7−x (YBCO) is shown to agree with the microwave electrical conductivity, affirming that increase is due to quasiparticle conduction The field dependence, particularly in the conducting plane permits us to separate phonon and quasiparticle contributions for both YBCO and Tℓ2Ba2CuO6 single crystals.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Deformation of pseudo-α-alloy under a temperature and rate regime that provides the occurrence of the process of dynamic recrystallization of the β-phase independently of the deformation scheme, promotes the formation of a multi-component texture with disperse and uniform arrangement of the texture components having the same crystallographic orientation. The structure of the alloy consists of recrystallized β-grains with a lamellar transcrystalline structure and individual round uniformly distributed α-grains. Such a state of structure and texture provides isotropic properties in the plane of the sheet and a high resistance to LCF in a corrosive medium. 2. Deformation under temperature-and-rate regimes that do not provide processes of dynamic recrystallization of the β-phase leads either to the formation of a predominantly prismatic structure or a texture with deviated basal plane with a band pattern of texture components with the same crystallographic orientation and a band structure independently of the deformation scheme. In the presence of a prismatic texture, the mechanical properties are substantially anisotropic and the resistance to LCF in a corrosive medium diminishes in the transverse direction. 3. The test method employing a plastometer used in the present work allowed us to determine the temperature and deformation range of the formation of specific structure and texture states in pseudo-α-alloy with a sufficiently high reliability.
