Zusammenfassung Es wird über autoradiographische Untersuchung zum Aufschluß des Proliferationsverhaltens der Placenta unter normalen und pathologischen Bedingungen berichtet. Gewebsproben von 39 Placenten normaler und 31 pathologischer Schwangerschaften (Diabetes mellitus, Erythroblastose, EPH-Gestose und Blasenmole) der 10.–43. Schwangerschaftswoche wurden in3H-Thymidin inkubiert. Unter normalen Bedingungen wurden statistisch signifikante Unterschiede in der Intensität der DNS-Synthese sowohl in Abhängigkeit von der Lokalisation (Throphoblast, Stroma) als auch vom Alter der Schwangerschaft gefunden. Das Placentagewebe von pathologischen, verglichen mit dem von normalen Schwangerschaften, ließ unterschiedliche Stärke der DNS-Synthese erkennen. Der mögliche Zusammenhang der Untersuchungsergebnisse zu entsprechenden morphologischen Befunden wird diskutiert.

Summary It is reported about a radioautographic study of human placenta tissue from normal and abnormal pregnancies. The material was obtained from pregnancies from 10 to 43 weeks gestation. Specimens of placenta tissue from 39 normal and 31 pathological pregnancies (diabetes mellitus, toxemia, erythroblastosis and hydatiform mole) were incubated with tritiated thymidine. Based on determination of3H-thymidine labelling indices marked variation in DNA-synthesis was noted in trophoblast and stroma cells of placenta villi under normal conditions. A significant correlation to duration of pregnancy was observed. DNA-synthesis pattern was different in placenta villi of pathological cases, compared with placenta tissue from normal pregnancies. The possible relation of these results to morphological findings is discussed.
