Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary The organ isomorphic system theory was applied to the determination of extrahepatic bile flow in rabbits (n = 35) and pigs (n = 14) by hepatobiliary scintigraphy (HBFS). The mean transit time (MTT) is a useful parameter for quantification of experimentally induced incomplete extrahepatic stenoses and their relevance to bile flow. Re-entrant cannulation of the common bile duct in pigs results in a good correlation between the time activity curve in HBFS and bile flow.
