Notes:
Abstract In 11 healthy subjects the O2 partial pressure in the blood of the art. brachialis and in the “arterialized” blood of the hyperemisized ear lobe was compared in norm-, hyper- and hypoxia. In norm- and hypoxia there was a good congruence between Pa0 2 and Pcap(ear)0 2. In hyperoxia Pcap(ear)0 2 was found systematically lower than Pa0 2. The mean differences between arterial and capillary blood were, when breathing the 15% O2-N2 mixture 0.4 torr, 20.9% 0.5 torr, 30.0% 5.7 torr, 40% 6.9 torr, 50% 16.0 torr, 70% 11.9 torr, 85% 10.6 torr and 100% 23.9 torr.
