Notes: We report the clinical, histological and immunological features of two cases of multinucleate cell angiohistiocytoma (MCAH) in women of 32 and 53 years of age, respectively. Clinically, MCAH occurs mostly in middle-aged women and consists of crops of reddish-purple, dome-shaped papules especially on the limbs. Histologically, the reticular dermis presents an increased number of small vascular channels with plump endothelial cells embedded in a fibrohistiocitic stroma with numerous bizarre multinucleate cells. Bizarre multinucleated cells are not specific to MCAH; they can be observed in numerous other cutaneous conditions. However, MCAH presents quite distinctive clinico-pathological findings and may be easily differentiated from other cutaneous disorders.

Notes: A light microscopic study of 6 verrucous lesions with clinical features of seborrheic keratoses (SK) occurring on sun-exposed skin of 4 patients with epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) was performed. We observed the typical histological findings of SK in all cases. In addition, koilocytotic effects suggestive of EV were observed in the upper prickle layer and stratum granulosum. In 2 lesions, we also noted bowenoid changes suggesting possible early malignant transformation. Immunohistochemical study confirmed the presence of HPV in these lesions.

Notes: The histological picture of molluscum contagiosum (MC) is well known: the epidermis grows down into the dermis as multiple, closely packed pear-shaped lobules. The epitelial cells of the outermost layers and the horny layer display typical molluscum bodies. In this paper, we describe an unusual case of MC in a cystic lesion. This lesion was probably due to localisation of the MC virus in the ostium of the pilar infundibulum, followed by obstruction and formation of an inclusion cyst.

Notes: Two cases of balloon cell malignant melanoma of the skin are reported. The first lesion was pigmented, the second was amelanotic. Histologically, the tumor mass was dermal and intraepidermal and almost exclusively composed of balloon cells. Many of the clear cells demonstrated positivity with the S-100 protein immunostaining. The problems of clear-cell tumor differential diagnosis are discussed.
