Notes:
A new identification of the Egyptian decans with stars or constellations is presented. By considering the position of the full moon with 10 days' interval, a location of the 36 decans is found. Owing to the non-uniform annual motion of the Sun, the decans located by this procedure are of unequal length. It is found that they can be identified with stars or constellations; the limits between decans were in many cases exactly preserved in Greek astronomy. Detailed explanations are given for the names and the locations of the decans.
