Description / Table of Contents: Summary Authors described a case of miliary listeriosis of the lung of a young woman. The miliary dissemination developed among septic fevers accompanying still-birth. The clinical symptoms, the high titre of the Vidalreaction performed with listeria monocytogenes strains, eight month after the septic condition and the decreasing titre of the reaction after antibiotic treatment are indicative of the listerial aetiology of the dissemination. Further evidences were obtained from the results of a post-mortem examination of the woman deceased in seropurulent meningoencephalitis. In the lung and in the various abdominal organs, on the peritoneum and on the basis of the brain besides miliary nodules numerous necrotic granulomas were found exhibiting a histological structure corresponding to that of listeriome.
