Notes: Tensor product decompositions of the N=2 superconformal algebras are examined to determine when they are finite or multiplicity-free, using various combinatorial identities. Using similar techniques, branching rules for the winding subalgebras of the N=2 superconformal algebras are investigated.

Notes: Abstract We show how a number of fundamental properties of the symmetric and anti-symmetric Jack polynomials can be derived from knowledge of the corresponding properties of the nonsymmetric Jack polynomials. These properties include orthogonality relations, normalization formulas, a specialization formula and the evaluation of a proportionality constant relating the anti-symmetric Jack polynomials to a product of differences multiplied by the symmetric Jack polynomials with a shifted parameter.

Notes: Abstract Using symmetric function techniques, we derive closed-form expressions for the Hirota polynomials for thepth modified KP and BKP hierarchies in terms of Schur and SchurQ-polynomials, respectively. The Hirota polynomials for the BKP hierarchy can also be expressed as Pfaffians while those for thepth modified KP hierarchies can, under certain conditions, be expressed as determinants.
